Volleyball Program Overview
Town and Country Volleyball Leagues provide girls in grades 4 thru 12th the opportunity to play recreational volleyball. There are 4 separate leagues based on school grade: 4-5th Grade League; 6th Grade Girls; 7-8th grade girls; and High School girls. The leagues are not open to girls who play for school teams. All experience levels are welcome.
The Town & Country Volleyball season is played in the fall. Practices begin late August; the end of the season tournament is played in late October. Games are played at Canyon Vista Middle School. One practice per week is held at several RRISD schools. Registration opens in July/August. Enrollment is limited, so do not delay in registering.
Operational Summary
- The 4th & 5th Grade League is an instructional league with no standings. The league's aim is to introduce the game of volleyball and build basic skills. See our website for special rules. League is put together by buddy request and geographic area.
- The 6th Grade League is our most competitive league; it is designed to provide lots of opportunity to hone basic skills and introduce more technical skills. Teams are drafted by coaches after girls attend a preview session. This is not a try-out, as all players are placed on a team.
- The 7-8th Grade League provides volleyball experience to those girls not selected by school teams who want to improve their game, or girls who just choose to play recreational volleyball. Teams are put together by buddy request and school.
- The High School League (our newest league) provides those girls not on school teams with an opportunity to play recreational volleyball. The emphasis in the HS league is to improve skills and introduce team-play strategy. Teams are put together by buddy request and school.
